Around 1500 Leonardo Da Vinci illustrated the book "La Divina" (The Divine Proportion) of the mathematician Luca Pacioli, who described the mathematical theory of the "Golden Rule" – "The Golden Ratio" used in paintings and statues of the period of the Renaissance to have balance and beauty. Da Vinci later called the Section Aurea, or Golden Section. The designs with the gold of the cards refer to the art of the Renaissance.
